How to Grow
Fuchsia - Beckie Lou (Standard Whip)
- Repot whips in patio containers of well drained, soil based compost such as John Innes No.3. Alternatively plant fuchsias out in borders, in any moist, well drained soil.
- Choose a sunny or semi shaded site which is protected from cold winds.
- Provide a sturdy support against the main stem of standard fuchsias to support the plant and keep the stem straight.
- Aftercare.
- Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season.
- Deadhead faded fuchsia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.
- In autumn, a bark or compost mulch applied to the base of fuchsia plants will help to protect hardy fuchsias from winter cold.
